‘The best thing to come out of Cornwall since tin’, Cornish rappers Hedluv + Passman bring new life to the Cornish vernacular with songs such as Dreckly. Born and raised in Redruth (‘druth) in the area underlain by the Great Flat Lode, once the centre of tin and copper mining in Cornwall, they make songs about nature documentaries, pasty etiquette and the challenges of swimming in the sea, with extreme dance moves. Accompanied by Casiotone keyboards from local charity shops, their lyrics describe the quotidian pleasures of Cornish life in the post-industrial age.
